Wedding reception decorations: table centerpieces using candles
People are naturally fascinated with fire and light, so why not take advantage of that in your wedding reception decorations? Let candles fill the bill, whether for reception table centerpieces or standalone decorations.
Four ways to use candles in your wedding reception decorations
1. Tons of tapers
One or two tapers in holders make a good focal point for reception table centerpieces. Candelabras are also elegant anytime. You can make the ones you bought or rented for your ceremony do double duty as wedding reception decorations.
2. Plenty of pillars
It's easy to make dramatic wedding reception table centerpieces using, say, three pillar candles of different heights in each arrangement. Of course wedding reception decorations can also be fashioned around a single pillar or spherical candle. A "mega-pillar," if it's big enough, is a conversation starter in itself.
3. Frequent floaters
Floating candles and candle holders are getting more popular all the time. They make great wedding reception decorations because they are so easy to customize and coordinate with any look or theme. Caution: Make sure any bowl or container you use for floating candles can handle the heat. Otherwise you'll hear the sound of breaking glass an hour or two into your reception!
4. Very votive
Votive candles and tealights can be used in many ways, from wedding favors to table centerpieces. They're inexpensive and easy to decorate with.
